Meal Time 3.1.9 Update: Care Notes and Clearer Instructions

Published October 14, 2026 · Meal Time For Pets

A good handoff gives the next caregiver more than a schedule. Meal Time 3.1.9 adds a place for the small details that make care easier: a Good to know note on each pet profile that can appear in Care Instructions. The update also makes the times in those instructions match the schedule you set in the app.

What is new, and what is fixed

The new Good to know field can hold practical details for a sitter or family member: a feeding preference, a hiding spot, a familiar routine, or another instruction worth remembering. When you save the pet profile, that note becomes part of the pet’s Care Instructions PDF. Members of a shared family group can see the same saved note after it syncs.

The Care Instructions PDF now uses the times set in Meal Time, fixing a mismatch between the report and the app schedule. Version 3.1.9 also polishes getting started and the More screen and improves reliability for shared care reminders, group activity, and widgets. Those are improvements to existing workflows, not a new reminder system.

How to add a Good to know note

After installing 3.1.9, open Meal Time and choose the pet from Today. Open that pet’s profile for editing, tap Good to know, and write a short, useful note. Tap Done in the note editor, then Save on the pet profile. The final Save step keeps your change.

Write instructions another person can act on. For example: “Cleo eats wet food in the quiet room” or “Maple usually hides behind the sofa when visitors arrive.” Review the note whenever the routine changes. If your household uses a shared group, let the save finish syncing before another member relies on the new text.

How to check or share Care Instructions

If your plan includes Care Report export, open Summary, choose Export Care Report, then select Care Instructions. Review the PDF before sharing it with a sitter. The Good to know section should show the saved note, and scheduled care times should match the times you entered in Meal Time.

If a time is wrong, check the scheduled meal, medicine, or care action in the pet profile and save the correction, then create the PDF again. The report is a handoff aid; keep emergency contacts and veterinary directions up to date separately, and follow your veterinarian’s instructions for medication.
